Meet The Trainer
Emily Lowes CBCC-KA, FFCP
Hi, I'm Emily and I am the owner of Hopeful Dog Training! I am a Certified Behaviour Consultant through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers and a Fear Free Certified Trainer. I have been working with dogs my entire life and professionally since 2015. I continue to attend seminars and take courses with some of the most well-respected trainers in the industry to stay current with the most scientifically proven training methodologies! I am passionate about helping owners understand their dogs and learn how to train and work with them effectively. Working with dogs is extremely rewarding for me, whether I'm helping a dog learn that other dogs aren't all that scary or teaching a young dog a new skill!

When I am not training other people and their dogs, I am training my own dogs! I compete in various dog sports with my dogs, with my biggest passion being canine frisbee. I am very proud of my dogs Fidget and Shuffle who are both nationally ranking frisbee dogs! I am lucky enough to get to travel across North America with my dog performing in different stunt dog shows. I also work as a Motion Picture Animal Trainer under Manitoba Animal Actors! Being able to work with dogs in so many circumstances has allowed me to understand their behaviour on a more complex level.

Why Hopeful Dog Training
Sixteen years ago I started fostering a highly energetic and anxious dog who became a foster fail, not without hesitation from the rest of the family. This dog was very unsure of her surroundings and was constantly overstimulated. She was fearful of new things - like walking from one room to another with different floors. After coming into rescue, her name was changed to Hope, because we were all hopeful that she could grow and relax into herself. Today, at almost seventeen years old, Hope has travelled across North America performing and competing with me. She is the reason I became a dog trainer and the reason there is a special place in my heart for those overly energetic, anxious pups.
Hopeful Dog Training is a space for all dogs to learn with their humans. Whether you are just starting out or are somewhere along your journey, my goal is to help people understand their dogs.
