Reactive Rendezvous

Our Reactive Rendezvous program offers small group sessions with up to three dogs, focusing on leash reactivity in a controlled environment. The program aims to provide both dogs and their owners the chance to practice reactivity management at a safe distance, ensuring dogs remain below their reactivity threshold. Owners will develop skills in reading their dog’s body language, identifying when to reward, and giving appropriate cues. Each session lasts 45 minutes and takes place at various locations.

This program is available only to dogs that have completed a Private Session and have been approved for participation. Since there is less hands-on coaching during Reactive Rendezvous, your handling skills will be assessed during the Private Session to ensure readiness.

FAQS

Q: I've done private training with someone else. Can I still come?

A: It is required that you have done a session with Hopeful Dog Training and are approved by our trainer in order to participate.

Q: What should I bring?

A: You will need to bring high value rewards and lots of them! I recommend skipping your dog's meal and using treats like Rollover or freeze dried dog food that can take the place of your dog's meal.

Q: Will I immediately be approved once I do a Private Session?

A: Participating in a Private Session does not mean immediate approval for the Reactive Rendezvous Program. Most owners require an additional session or Maintenance Meetup before being approved for the program. Our goal is to ensure that both you and your dog are set up for success!
